Catcalling is a form of non-physical sexual harassment. It begins with words. With gazes. With sounds. It takes place in public space and disproportionately targets women and queer individuals.
The reversible publication Ungefragt investigates this recurring behavior through two perspectives: analytical and personal.
The first part examines structural dimensions: definitions, legal classification, psychological mechanisms, interviews and survey data reveal how early first experiences occur and how persistently they repeat.
The second part documents one month of my own experiences in Rome. Through diary entries and photography, it reflects on the impact of these encounters on self-perception and the feeling of safety in public space.
